If a RevPay terminal is not powering on, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the issue.
1. Confirm Proper Power-On Attempt
- Confirm that you have held down the power button for 5–10 seconds
- Most RevPay terminals require a long press to turn on
2. Check Charging Time
- Has the terminal charged for at least 30 minutes
- A fully drained battery may need time before showing any response
- Additionally, if the terminal is fully charged and currently plugged in, unplug it before attempting to power the device on.
3. Look for Charging Indicators
- When plugged in, check if a light appears near the charging port
- This may be green (charged) or red (Not charged) depending on how long you have charged the device
- If no light appears, it could indicate a charging issue
4. Test a Different Power Source
- Have you tried plugging the charger into a different outlet
- This helps rule out issues with the power source
5. Swap Charging Accessories
- Try different charging block and USB-C cable
- This determines if the original accessories are faulty
- Use a known working charger if available
When a terminal won’t turn on, the issue is often related to power, charging, or accessories. Verifying these basics can quickly identify whether the problem is with the device or its power source.
