Overview
RevIntegrator for Web (RI4W) allows you to transfer exam data from supported devices directly into RevolutionEHR using your web browser. Because RI4W is built into RevolutionEHR, there is no separate RevIntegrator desktop application to install.
RI4W can be used on both Windows and Mac computers and does not require practice credentials to be configured under Admin > Partner Integration.
Browser Requirements: RI4W is currently supported on Chromium-based browsers, including Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Before using a device to capture patient exam data, you'll first need to configure the device for your practice location.
Configure a Device
Devices are configured by practice location. This allows practices with multiple locations to maintain a different list of devices at each location.
To configure a device:
- Navigate to Admin > General > Locations > Devices.
- Confirm you are viewing the appropriate practice location.
- Select + Add.
- Find and select your device from the list. Supported devices are grouped by manufacturer.
- Enter a Name for the device. You can use any name that will make the device easy for your team to identify.
- If applicable, select the appropriate Baud Rate for your device.
- Choose whether to enable Disable Preview.
- When Disable Preview is not selected, you will have an opportunity to review captured data before saving it to the patient's encounter.
- When Disable Preview is selected, captured data will be saved directly to the encounter without displaying the preview screen.
- Select Save.
If necessary, you can configure multiple devices for each practice location.
Capture Patient Exam Data
Once a device has been configured, you can use it to capture data within a patient's encounter.
- Open the appropriate patient and navigate to their Encounter.
- Locate the Devices button.
- Select the device you want to use. The list will display the devices configured for your current practice location.
- Your browser will prompt you to select a COM/serial port. Select the port associated with the device.
Important: The device must be connected to the computer, and you'll need to select the correct COM/serial port for that device.
Once the connection is established, RevolutionEHR will indicate that the browser is ready and listening for data from the selected device.
Transfer and Review the Data
With the device connected:
- Use the physical device as you normally would to capture and transmit the patient's exam data.
- Once RevolutionEHR receives the data, a preview will appear.
- Review the captured information and choose one of the following:
- Save to add the data to the patient's encounter.
- Recapture to discard the captured data and try again.
- Cancel to exit without saving the data.
If Disable Preview was enabled when the device was configured, the preview screen will not appear. The captured data will automatically be saved to the patient's encounter.
Additional Notes
- RI4W does not require the RevIntegrator desktop application to be installed.
- Devices are configured separately for each practice location.
- Multiple devices can be configured for the same location.
- RI4W currently requires Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or another supported Chromium-based browser.
- The physical device must be connected to the computer before attempting to capture data.
- When prompted, be sure to select the COM/serial port associated with the device you are using.
