RevolutionEHR offers the ability to export C-CDA files for a single patient or group of patients in real-time or on a scheduled basis. As an example case, a patient requesting their electronic health data to be transferred to a different office. The ability to export C-CDA files is permission-based.
Instructions
Permissions
- Access Admin > Employee/Roles > User Roles > open a user role.
- In Access Permissions, click the arrow to expand the Administration Module.
- Select “Export Patient C-CDA Files." See Example Note: Ensure that the employee(s) of interest are assigned a User Role with the “Export Patient C-CDA Files” permission box checked.
Utilization
- Access Admin > Patient Management > Search.
- The Last Name field determines the patients returned by the search. If the field is left blank and Search is selected, all patients in the practice will be returned in the search results. The other fields of the search can be used to fine tune the results.
- With search results displayed, select the gear icon and “Export C-CDAs.” See Example
- In the Export C-CDAs modal, select the date range for the data to be included in the patients’ C-CDA files. For example, if the C-CDA should only contain data for encounters that took place in the last 30 days, the corresponding radio button selection can be made. Note: Only patients with encounters within the selected data range will be exported.
Real-Time Export
- To export the C-CDA(s) immediately, click 'Export.'
- A confirmation message displays notifying the user that the completed export will be delivered to the user’s Messages inbox.
- Upon completion, the C-CDA file(s) are delivered as a zip file attachment. Select the file name link to download the file.
- The zip folder and its contents can then be managed as appropriate for the request.
Scheduled Export
- To export the C-CDA(s) at a different time, click 'Schedule Export.'
- Exports can be scheduled for a specific time of day and to take place once or on a recurring basis. Enter the appropriate customization, provide a name for the export, and then click 'Schedule.'
- A confirmation message displays notifying the user that the completed export is delivered to the user’s Messages inbox.
- Scheduled exports can be reviewed and cancelled through the Scheduled C-CDA Exports section of Patient Management.
- Upon completion, the C-CDA file(s) are delivered as a zip file attachment. Select the file name link to download the file.
- The zip folder and its contents can then be managed as appropriate for the request.
