You can set the expiration time period for your whole practice or set it for individual locations. This is useful, for instance, if locations are in different states where statutory expiration periods vary. Each practice location's prescription expiration time period is initially the same as the practice level expiration time period setting.
- If you change the location level expiration time period, then the location level expiration will be used to calculate the expiration dates.
- Expiration dates are calculated by using the number of months entered into the setting.

- Access Admin > General > Practice Preferences > Additional Preferences > Patients > Prescriptions.
- Update the fields for:
- Med Rx expiration.
- Contact Lens Rx expiration.
- Eyeglass Rx expiration.
- Click 'Save.' See Example
- Log out and log in to see the changes associated to the setting.
