The most common reasons data does not save in an encounter are:
-
Two people have accessed the same screen of the same encounter at the same time. In this scenario, the first user to access their screen will have their data saved. The second user will not see the changes by the first user and could override some findings resulting in the appearance of lost data. Only one user needs to be actively entering data for this to occur. If the second user navigates to the same screen and then goes away, the system processes this as a Save and can override the other user's data.
- You may run the Audit Log for the patient's exam and encounter date to review the employee activity during the encounter. See Audit Log for more information.
- RevolutionEHR is open and running in another browser window on the same computer. Also, if a single user has more than one session open on multiple computers, it can lead to lost data.
- The encounter tab is closed, the patient file is closed, or the user logs out before proceeding to another screen within the same encounter. Data entered within a screen is not saved until another screen in that encounter is selected. The Next/Previous buttons need to be selected to save data for each screen. Certain screens, such as Eyeglass Review/CL Trials require selecting Save when adding data, but most require the Next/Previous to be clicked to save.
- If the office uses device integration to pull data from exam equipment, they may get the "this screen has been updated by another user" message if they are trying to save when the data is being pushed into RevolutionEHR, Within the message, other user refers to the integration.
- Loss of internet connection or a weak and intermittent connection. If the user loses their internet connection while trying to save data, this can contribute to data loss. This can also occur if the connection is weak or the service goes in and out, even briefly, while entering data.
