A service trigger automatically displays a CPT code in the Coding screen of an encounter. The following instructions are to add a service code trigger.
Instructions
- Access Admin > Encounters / Interviews > Encounter Test Library > click on test category > locate test and open > Service Triggers.
- In the Location field, select the appropriate location. Note: Practices with multiple locations, the following steps must be repeated for each appropriate location.
- Click '+ Add.'
- In the Add Service Trigger modal, in the Service field, input a service code or service name and click the search icon.
- Select the service from the list.
- The Rule field has the following options:
- Any field: The code triggers if ANY of the options within the Test Fields have data input within the encounter test.
- All fields: The code triggers if ALL of the options within the Test Fields have data input within the encounter test.
- Any selected field: The code triggers if ANY SELECTED option within the Test Fields have data input within the encounter test.
- All selected fields: The code triggers if ALL SELECTED options within the Test Fields have data input within the encounter test.
- Click 'Save.' Note: Repeat the steps for additional services triggers. The service triggers associated to the opened test are listed within the grid below the Locations field.
- Click 'Save.'
- Log out and log in to see the changes associated to the setting.
