A patient's status is automatically defaulted as "new" when they are added to the system. The status updates to "established" when their encounter is signed by the provider. If a patient has not been in the office for three or more years and you need to change the status, it can be manually updated to "new."
- Access Patients > search for and open a patient > Demographics.
- Click 'Edit.'
- In the status field, select the radio button for New.
- Click 'Update.' Note: The status automatically updates to Established when their encounter is signed by the provider.
