Import Products is used for importing products from the Frames Data, EyeDock, or Practice Master catalogs.
- A database provided by EyeDock for Contact Lenses is available for import to the Contact Lens Category.
- A database for Eyeglass Lenses configured to match the HCPCS definitions for Single Vision, Bifocal, and Trifocal is available for import in the Eyeglass Lens category.
- A database for Frames from Frames Data is available for import to the Eyeglass Frames Category. IMPORTANT NOTE: Importing from the Frames Data database requires a subscription to the Frames Data Immediate Data Access (IDA). Please contact Frames Data at 1-800-821-6069 ext 4 to sign up.
- If the product is not available for import, it can be manually added by using the Add Product feature.
- Some imported products do not allow fields to be edited. The following fields may not be available for editing: Manufacturer, Brand, Collection, Model, URL. All fields within the Options tab which include Product Color, Frame Size, and Contact Lens Details. All fields within the Attributes tab.
Instructions
Products can be imported by an individual product or by multiple products.
- Access Inventory > Products.
- Hover your cursor over the plus icon ; select Import Products.
- Input text into any of the search fields to search by Category, Manufacturer, Brand, Collection, Model, and/or Catalog.
- The Category field defaults to the category indicated in the Products' Dashboard. If "All Categories" is selected in the Dashboard, the Category field in the Import Products screen defaults to "Select a Category." The Search button is not enabled until a Category has been selected.
- If Eyeglass Lens Treatments or Eyeglass Lenses is selected as the Category, an additional dropdown menu displays that allows the user to filter by either Treatment Type or Lens Type.
- Catalog defaults to "All." Enable the radio button to search within the Frames Data/EyeDoc catalog or the Practice Master catalog.
- Note: The Practice Master Catalog is shared by all practice locations and contains all manually added products.
- "Display products not in this location" is checked as the default. This filter ensures that only products not already included in the location's product catalog display in the results. We recommend this checkbox remain checked when searching for products to import.
- The Category field defaults to the category indicated in the Products' Dashboard. If "All Categories" is selected in the Dashboard, the Category field in the Import Products screen defaults to "Select a Category." The Search button is not enabled until a Category has been selected.
- Click 'Search.'
- Click the checkbox in front of the product(s) you would like to import, or click the checkbox at the top of the column to select all products displayed within the results grid. If appropriate, select a new quantity from the Show dropdown menu to display a larger number of products in the results grid.
- Click 'Import.'
- A banner message displays confirming that your products have been imported.
- Click 'Back to Products.'
- Complete Product Information and Pricing Information for the imported products.
