Quantity is required on every contact lens order
Every contact lens order must have a quantity of at least 1 for OD (right eye), OS (left eye), or both. This requirement applies to trial and revenue orders, regardless of how the order was created. It is not controlled by a practice preference. If both eye quantities are blank or 0, the order cannot be saved. If you attempt to save an order with a 0 quantity the banner will display: “OD Quantity or OS Quantity must be at least 1.”
Require pack size for contact lens orders
A practice administrator can choose whether to require a pack size for each eye that has a quantity greater than 0. Manage this setting in Admin > General > Practice Preferences > Additional Preferences > Order. Set Require pack size on contact lens orders to Yes or No.
The setting defaults to No and applies to all locations in the practice:
- No: Pack size is optional.
- Yes: Enter a pack size for each eye with a quantity greater than 0. An eye with a quantity of 0 or left blank does not need a pack size.
For example, a single-eye order can have a quantity and pack size for one eye, with no pack size for the other.
If a required pack size is missing, the banner identifies the eye. It may say “OD Packaging is required” or “OS Packaging is required.” Add the missing pack size and save the order again.
