If you have appointment slots created for your Schedule, an open appointment slot can easily be located by using the Search Slots feature within a New Appointment. If you are not familiar with appointment slots, access the article, "What are appointment slots?" for more information.
Instructions
- Access Schedule.
- Click the '+ Appointment' button.
- In the New Appointment window, input the patient name into the Patient field, using Patient Search guidelines.
- Click the Search Patients icon.
- In the Select a Patient modal, click the line item of the patient.
- In the Appt Slot field, click 'Search Slots.'
- In the Appointment Slot Search modal, complete the required fields, e.g., Type. Note: If slots do not display, you may need to complete fields that are not required, such as Employee or Role.
- Click 'Search.'
- Within the Available Slots section, select the appointment within the grid.
- If you have checked the box for Day/Time preferences, the patient's day and time information as indicated in the Preferences component of the patient's file display.
- The Available Slots that meet the patient's Preferences display.

- Complete any of the remaining fields.
- Slot Selected displays within the New Appointment window, in the Appt Slot field. See Example

- Click 'Create.'
