Test Editor allows the user to:
- Edit the options available within the dropdown menus and multiselects located within a specific exam test.
- Set the order of the options available within the dropdown menus and multiselects.
- Set normal values for a test field.
- Set finding as Abnormal.
- Select the order of the tabbing feature.
- Edit the font of dropdown menus and multiselects.
- Note: Fields for OD and OS must be edited separately.
Instructions
Edit Properties
- Access Admin > Encounters / Interviews > Encounter Test Library > select a category > open a test.

Click in the field you want to edit.
- Make all necessary changes, click 'Save.' Note: Fields for OD and OS must be edited separately.
Property | Description |
Tab Index | This controls the order in which the field is highlighted and enabled when the user tabs through the fields within the test. **Use caution when editing as a mistake in the tab feature could be very confusing to the user. We recommend you test this feature after you have it saved. |
Min | The minimum value allowed for that field. |
Max | The maximum value allowed for that field. |
Default Normal |
This option is available for fields that do not include a dropdown or multiselect, such as open text fields. Fields within a test auto-populate with the information from the Default Normal field when the "Test results normal" button is selected within the test. After completing the setup, click the "Test results normal" button within the header to review all fields that auto-populate within the test.

Add Values
The values options that display in a test's dropdown menus and multiselects are controlled by accessing the Values tab. Note: Not all fields have a Values tab.
- Access Admin > Encounters / Interviews > Encounter Test Library > select a category > open a test.
- Click in a field to add a value.
- Access the Values tab. The current values assigned to the field are displayed. Activated values are displayed with a check mark; deactivated values are not checked.
- Click 'Add.'
- In the Add Value modal, type the name of the value in the Value field. The text in the Value field appears in the test's dropdown menu or multiselect. Note: The Value name cannot be edited once it has been added.
- Click 'OK.' Note: Fields for OD and OS must be edited separately.
- Click 'Save.'
Option | Description |
Value | The name of the value. |
Abbreviation | Abbreviation of the Value name. The abbreviation displays in the field when the value is selected within the encounter. If an abbreviation is not entered, the text within the Value field displays within the encounter. |
Default Normal | Check this box if you want the test to always default to the value when the "Test results normal" button is selected within the test. the value in the list that has been setup as Default Normal is displayed in italics. |
Abnormal Finding | The value displays in the test with a dark outline if Abnormal Finding is enabled. |
Edit Values
The values options that display in a test's dropdown menus and multiselects are controlled by accessing Values. Note: Not all fields have Values available.
- Click in the field you want to edit.
- Access Values.
- Review the list of values options. Check the values you want to appear or uncheck the values that should not appear in the dropdown or multiselect.
- Values that are not checked are deactivated and cannot be edited.
- Deactivated values are not removed from historical encounters. The data is displayed within the original encounter that used the test and within the View Test History for that test.
- Values that are deactivated can be activated.
- The order of the listed values can be updated by selecting the ellipsis and dragging and dropping the value to its desired position within the list.
- Values that are not checked are deactivated and cannot be edited.
- Click a Value within the list to update Default Normal, Abnormal Finding, and other options appropriate to the Value. See Example
