When creating an appointment or appointment slot, the system does not require the appointment to be assigned to a specific provider or employee, it can be assigned to a Role (e.g., Optician, Technician). Assigning a Role to an appointment is helpful for situations such as optical encounters which do not require the patient to see a provider.
Appointments that are assigned to a Role can be assigned to an employee when the appointment is started. The started encounter displays on the assigned employee's schedule.
- Access Schedule.
- Click '+ Appointment.'
- Complete all required fields.
- In the Role field, select the appropriate option.
- Click 'Create.'
